About the Event

Join financial industry veteran Claire Smith, who founded the first vegan investment platform, as she discusses how animal-friendly policies are an essential component of ESG and can be integrated with a gender lens.

Animal exploitation until recently has been largely ignored as an ESG factor, despite its importance when it comes to health, biodiversity and the climate. In this discussion we also consider how it can contribute to a gender lens investment strategy.

Beyond Investing were the first investment manager to incorporate vegan policies into ESG investing. This session considers not only how imposing these criteria can reinforce the Environmental factors in ESG but also how gender issues are critical to consider and can be a further positive outcome of this approach.

Join us for a presentation and Q&A with Claire Smith and Dr Marta Ra as they discuss the various methodologies, from screening and passive strategies to proactive stock selection, leaning towards supporting women founders and managers .

Claire Smith is CEO at Beyond Investing and CIO of Beyond Impact, an affiliated VC firm. She is also a founder of the Beyond Animal platform. In her role, she is responsible for developing strategy across the Group, as well as leading product development and business management.
